Playing Hookie

Chris  & I are playing hookie today! Well, not really he is starting a new job on Monday so he has had the last three days off, lucky lucky boy. I took the day off because there is a terrorist living in my house and no it is not Tierra.  She is a hefty 30lb, kinda short, long hair don't care, fur baby. Yes, Elle I am talking about you. Ever since we brought our sweet Elle home almost two years ago she has been sure to let us know she is in charge and we are not. She also has this outstanding habit of chewing anything of value. She really has an eye for the finer things in life. Like my retainer. Hence, why I am off work today. I get to go see my ortho that I haven’t seen since I was about 12 and a terrorist myself. Seriously. They remember me, and not in the good-cute-little-sweet-kid way. No, I seriously hated my braces. I had a panic attack every time I thought about going. I still kinda do. And well, because my teeth are slowly shifting, and my fur child decided to eat my glow in the dark retainer from 2002, I had to go see good-ole Dr. Chin. Only this time there was no TY beanie babies awaiting me if I didn’t freak out (thanks mom, who says bribery doesn’t work?). I survived to say the least and Chris  and I enjoyed a greasy, delicious, breakfast from our local favorite, The Breakfast Nook. We also squeezed in a nap  and avoided all house work. It was pretty great just spending the day with my man.  I think we need more Friday’s off! 

Anyway, thanks Elle for giving me the day off. It was mighty nice of you. But you still owe me $400 bucks.
