About them: Chris and I met when we were fourteen in the dominos line at our high school. The first thing I noticed about him was his hair. He had some seriously long beautiful locks, clearly I thought he was cute, I have always been a sucker for long hair. I awkwardly flirted, we became "school friends" yanno the ones that randomly send flirty texts but strictly friends at school-we were those kids. We had completely different friends and in high school you just don't date outside your bubble-its in the handbook I am pretty sure. After high school he went to the navy and I went UCF. I dated some losers here and there, nothing ever serious. I ended up moving back home a yr and a half later and transferred to UT. I was going through some stuff that year, it wasn't pretty to say the least. I eventually found a church home and things changed, everything changed actually. I was in prayer about meeting my husband, I was sick of the college scene and the life I was previously living.. I was ready to settle down at the ripe age of 21 (because that's what normal 21 yr olds want- to get married?). Chris got hurt overseas and he ended up back home around the same time, the universe is funny like that..we know this was all God's plan. One night I messaged him on the goold ol handy-facebook, honestly, just to see how my old friend was doing- I didn't think anything of it in a romantic sense and well he harrassed me for a few weeks about going on a date, I was nervous I mean I hadn't seen him in almost two years. So I did what any mature girl would do-I blew him off repeatedly. But eventually I caved and there he was at my fancy dorm. That year was a whirlwind. I was in a huge transition of the person I was and the person I am still becoming. And there was this boy who opened my doors for me, and said yes maam and no sir to strangers. He was a real gentlemen, not what I was used to. I fell hard and quick. We started dating in March, I was engaged by November and 6 weeks later on 12/31/2011 I was married to my best friend. People thought we were crazy and that I was pregnant, I am crazy but I wasn't pregnant. We have added two fur children to our family since the, they're my babies! I graduated from UT with full intentions of attending law school, that changed and I am now doing something I absolutely love, writing. I work for an amazing social media company with an amazing group of people, I seriously couldn't be happier with this career path.
Chris and I are figuring this thing called life out one day at a time. This is my space to document our journey.. some of the good and some of the bad and all the inbetween and of course we do save some stuff for just us.

Such a sweet story and cute couple! When God brings it together, it's funny how fast things can happen. :) My husband and I knew each other for only about a year when we got engaged, but we just knew it was right. I will have to share our story sometime!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jessica. I would love to hear your story!
