Plans, schmans.

People who know me, know that I am not a fan of plans.

I mean i planned my entire wedding in 6 weeks. i dont like plans.

They fall through, im usually late, and they just stress me out. For the past year, getting married and what not, makes you feel grown up, so I started planning. And guess what? it's still not fun. i am just more stressed. So family and friends, call it irresponsible or whatever you mature, planners call it, i vow to stop planning...

AND IT FEELS SO GOOD.

So today, as I endur a job that doesn't make me happy(please dont get me wrong, I am happy to have a job) . I decided to stop planning altogether and just let it be. Let things flow, including my husbands extremely long hair (that i secretly love). I think im reverting back to my hippie days and I am totally okay with that.

Cheers to a Happy Friday and no more plans!

a beach cottage love affair..

Chris and I spent the most a-mazing time at a quaint little beach cottage in pass-a-grille, florida. The owner was beyond wonderful! She sent us a list of the best shops, restaurants, hidden sidewalks, and so much more. She provided two beach cruisers, beach chairs, an umbrella, books, I mean the whole nine yards. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone!

Everybody's Free.

This has to be one of my favorite videos ever. I have seriously tried to share it with everyone and anyone who would watch. My friend kylie showed it to me my freshman year of college and I think everyone needs to watch it atleast once a week.. So here you go, I hope you love it:

Happy Thursday one day away from Friday!

Dear Lex,

The time has quickly approached for your departure to Brazil. I am so proud of you for taking this next step to serve the Lord and his people, its beyond courageous and respectable.

Seventh grade seems like forever ago, yet feels like just yesterday in many ways. I knew we would be inseperable after you imitated a SNL skit about IBS, hilarious, you truly are. Then high school showed up and the craziness that came along with it, I am glad we made it out alive, I am glad you were by my side. We have grown so much since high school, since college, so much in the last two years. Our lives have evolved and adulthood has arrived..much has changed in such little time, except our friendship. No matter the distance or the days, whenever we talk, we pick up where we left off and I believe that is the best quality in any friendship, it is rare and I cherish it. Thank you for being my shoulder, keeper of my secrets, giggle buddy, and dance partner.

You are the best friend everyone deserves to have. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your friendship, I am a better person because of you.

So here is to your new chapter, I am sure it holds nothing but beauty. The people of Brazil are privileged to have you for the next 18 months. I wish you the best lexaloo!

love you sista,
-B.

Thankful!

Today, I am thankful for all of the blessings the Lord has given me.

I am thankful for my salvation.
I am thankful for my husband and beautiful family.
I am thankful for my friends.
I am thankful for my country.
I am thankful for my church.
I am thankful for my puppies.
I am thankful for food.
I am thankful for love.
I am thankful for health.

Today I am reminded of all of the beauty the Lord has put in my life. This list is simple but I truly have so much I am thankful for. Today I challenge myself to remember this everyday.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Four 1/2 years ago..

Four 1/2 years ago I was graduating high school and heading off to college. I knew everything, duh. Life was going to turn out a little something like this:

I would be in law school (so happy that didn't work out as planned)

I would probably still be single (happy that didn't work out either) I was getting married around 30 once by big ol' career was started..geesh that ego. Oh & no kids  (ew, WHO was I?)

I would still be hanging out with my best friends (happy the good ones are still around).

I would probably be working in a law firm (assisting lawyers now, grateful for my job, its just not what I imagined)

I would be far far far away from my hometown (silly girl)

and I definitely would be living the American-look-at-me-doing-big-things-dream.

However, life has a way of taking your plans and throwing them out the window and in return great things happen.Four-ish years ago if you told me I would be married at 22, involved in my local church (with an amazing church family), wanting lots of babies, and heading to grad school in January (yayy!) to become a high school teacher I would've surely recommended you to the nearest loony-bin. My life is nothing I ever planned yet it is so much greater and fuller than my wildest dreams.

Lord, thank you for ruining my plans and giving me something far more beautiful.

Ketchup, Catch-up.

Its Thursday and here I am again a week late filling you in on my life that only exists for 48 hours a week....Saturday & Sunday. I feel like my life is just zooming by.. this working stuff blows but then again, so does living without electricity. I knew 17 was my prime. I feel like shaking children like Adam Sandler does in Billy Madison telling them never to grow up. Although being a grown does have benefits..like a 401k and health.. just kidding. Adult life provides the ability to:

1.Decorate Your Christmas tree however you want.. ahem, colorful lights thanks dad for depriving me of the white trash-multilight-mixmatching ornaments-beautiful-tree. As an adult, I get to decorate my tree with an outlandish number of strands of multi lights to my likings and leave it lit all day.

2. You get to get married and pass on all the chores you hated to your husband, dishes for example.

3. You get to have as many dogs as you want, sometimes when im cleaning up dog piss I wish I would of listened to my parents.

4. You can eat out 5 days a week.

5. I think that's it, hence, being an adult isn't as cool as it seems.

Anyway excuse that random rant, back to what I was saying.. 48 hours of bliss.
Well this past weekend our NYC girls weekend was officially cancelled due to Sandy. Prayers to all who were affected. Being a Floridian for all of my 22, almost 23 years I know all about those bastard storms.  In lieu of a cancelled trip I decided to enjoy my Friday that I already requested off. And let me tell you, I think I need every Friday off and Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.. I was so productive! I toyed with my domestic side and cleaned the entire house, cooked dinner, ran errands, and did wifely things, I kinda liked it actually. And to make my day even better my hubs surprised me with a little gem as an early birthday gift, a canon t3i. SERIOUSLY, I DIED. So excited. Now just figuring out how to operate that thing. I took a photography class in Italy as an undergrad- best time of my life- and learned so much. Unfortunately, all of that knowledge has left me and I thought it might come back, but I was wrong..so so wrong. I spent Saturday with little miss sassy-frass, Delanie. My seven year old sister. She’s hilarious, I love her to the moon and back. We went to the farmers market and ate delicious unhealthy food and met up with my two beautiful friends, Lex and Marisa and Hunty, Marisas boyfrann theyre so cute- get married already! It is so wonderful to see them. I am blessed girl to have those two in my life.

On other news, one of my dearest friends gave birth to a perfectly healthy little girl on Sunday after 30 hours in labor she deserves a congrats! I love you Rachel and your sweet Raye of sunshine you welcomed into this world!

Now Friday, I am demanding you show up on my door step ASAP!

Welcome November, I have been patiently awaiting your arrival.

November is my second favorite month, December holds strong in first, I am a Christmas fan-a-tic at its finest. But my birthday anddd Thanksgiving are in November sooo November gets second. Not to mention the most beautiful weather Florida has seen in months. I am loving the nippy mornings keep em’ coming!  (FYI--I am completely jealous of all the other states that get foliage and all that good stuff).
Cheers to fall/winter in florida that doesnt really exist and long sleeves 12 days out of the whole year.
